If “business as usual” just isn’t
cutting it any more, let’s talk.
Who I am
I work with people to identify and articulate goals, projects and strategies that fulfill their business objectives. Together we identify obstacles to success and create a plan for working beyond them.
I stand for a world in which people are connected, compassionate and creative. In this world, anything is possible. My values are: reliability, leadership, commitment, compassion, integrity and harmony. My top five Strength Themes are Responsibility, Learner, Restorative, Communication and Input.
I have a diverse background that includes oil exploration, software development, corporate training and performance support, and land development. I am a former business owner and engineering office manager.
I received a Master of Business Administration degree from San Diego State University, a Bachelor of Science degree (geology) from the University of the Pacific and did post-graduate work at California State University Northridge and Los Angeles.
I have a Private Pilot certificate with an instrument rating. I am an active member of Toastmasters International, a Cub Scout den leader and a member of the Board of Trustees at my church.
Programs and Workshops
Jim is an amazingly perceptive business coach, with a rare ability to see beneath the surface of the business issues one is dealing with and bring a deeper level of clarity to one’s vision. By getting clear on what was stopping me, I was able to refocus my energy on the vision of the business and to take the daily steps to move towards it. If you are starting or trying to grow a business and want to move with speed and purpose towards your dreams, I strongly recommend Jim McLaughlin as a coach and mentor.
Chief Executive Officer
I found the leaders of this course, Margaret and Jim, to be uncompromisingly powerful in their delivery of the material and their coaching to individuals in the course, never trying to be ‘nice’ or soft. They were even willing to disclose their personal foibles without losing their effectiveness. In fact, by being authentic themselves, they gained power to ask the participants to be authentic.
